What you will be researching
As a member of the transregional DFG project TRR 266 Accounting for Transparency and the Sustainability Reporting Navigator (SRN) team, you will explore research questions related to financial and sustainability reporting. The SRN provides an open-science resource that enables firms, their stakeholders, and the general public to position themselves in the evolving field of sustainability reporting. In this field, your focus will be on empirical work related to corporate mandatory and voluntary reporting practices as well as the role of regulation and learning.

Your workplace is centrally located in Munich at LMU’s main campus. Our accounting and taxation cluster works internationally in an open, and cooperative working atmosphere. Our research in the fields of financial and sustainability accounting and reporting, management accounting, corporate governance and auditing, financial analysis, valuation, and taxatio n contributes at the highest scientific level to solving current practical problems. This role offers a unique platform for intellectual exploration, allowing you to delve deep into your area of expertise and develop valuable research skills. As a PhD candidate and research assistant, you will present your work at international conferences fostering intellectual exchange and seek to publish in leading international journals. As a teaching assistant, you will gather teaching experience in our Institute’s Bachelor and Master courses, supervise students’ theses, and be an active member of our Institute team. We offer payment according to TV-L E 13.
Your profile
You have completed a Master’s degree in business administration, economics, or a related field of study – ideally with a specialization in accounting, finance, and/or sustainability management and reporting. You have the skills and motivation to work in the above research fields. You have acquired empirical skills as well as substantive expertise in accounting theory and practice, through either specialization in Bachelor’s and/or Master’s programs, topical and methodological theses, or relevant internships. Very good analytical skills and English language skills, being a good team player, an independent way of working as well as a high level of commitment are also welcomed.
