Doctoral research fellow

Doctoral Research fellow for up to 6 years – E 13 TV-L HU (3/4 part-time employment limited until 30.06.2023, thereafter 1/2 part-time employment, renewed increase in working hours if applicable) 

The successful candidate will contribute to the general teaching and researching program of the accounting group at the School of Business and Economics at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and conduct research within project B02 “Private Firm Transparency” of the transregional Collaborative Research Center TRR 266 “Accounting for Transparency” funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft – DFG). 

The researchers of TRR 266 investigate the determinants of corporate transparency and its societal consequences. Within this overall research program project B02 studies the determinants and effects of private firm transparency, covering topics like the role of private firm transparency for the labor market and exploring whether financial analysts or the market for mergers and acquisitions are affected by private firm transparency. 

As a pre-doctoral member of TRR 266/B02, you will work in the area of empirical accounting and private firm research. This also entails tasks pertaining to your scientific qualification (PhD).

Participating Institutions

TRR 266‘s main locations are Paderborn University (Coordinating University), HU Berlin, and University of Mannheim. All three locations have been centers for accounting and tax research for many years. They are joined by researchers from LMU Munich, Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, ESMT Berlin and Goethe University Frankfurt who share the same research agenda.
